Your product data is now paid media

A buyer does not start with your product page anymore. They ask ChatGPT what to buy, what to compare, and which brand fits their need.

That changes the job for Shopify operators running paid. Your product page is no longer just where the click lands. It is part of the material ChatGPT uses before the buyer ever reaches you.

AdExchanger wrote that AI agents are already making marketing decisions from data nobody has checked in years (AdExchanger, “AI Agents Are Making Marketing Decisions On Data No One Has Checked In Years,” June 28, 2026). That matters for ChatGPT ads because the ad is shown inside the conversation, next to the answer, while the buyer is still deciding.

The model needs clean product facts. Price. Availability. Variants. Use case. Shipping. Returns. Reviews that explain why people bought.

If those facts are stale, vague, or buried, the ad has to work harder. The buyer sees less proof. The model has less reason to treat your product as the obvious answer.

This is where Shopify brands waste money without seeing the leak. They check Meta creative every week. They check Google Shopping bids every day. But the product data underneath the new channel may not have been checked properly in years.

ChatGPT ads can convert about 2x higher than the paid channels most Shopify brands already run, but only when the product is easy for the model to understand. The channel is cheap while it is early. The work now is making sure your product facts are not the thing holding the ad back.

That is what I fix before running the campaign. Clean product data. Clear product pages. Review proof that says why people buy. Then the ad has a real chance inside the conversation.

If I do not beat your current Google or Meta CPA in month one, you do not pay month one.
